The Duffer Brothers aren't in the habit of showing their cards, as evidenced by the latest teaser for the upcoming second season of their hit Netflix drama Stranger Things. With just two weeks to go before the show's Oct. 27 return, the 44-second trailer that dropped on Wednesday (Oct. 11) is built on a series of quick-cut images that ask the simple question, "What is she trying to say?"

Entitled "Nosebleed," the clip seems to be a recounting of Eleven's (Millie Bobby Brown) experiments at the Hawkins National Laboratory. As you might recall, her mysterious character sacrificed herself to save the boys (Lucas, Mike and Dustin) from the Demagorgon, with the upcoming season promising to deal with the aftermath of Will's return from the Upside Down.

What do we learn in this latest peek? We see Eleven with an unidentified woman, some close-ups of their lips, flashbacks to the lab and Dr. Brenner, sunflowers, rainbows, the number 450 on a digital clock display, and an old-school calculator. All the while, a woman's voice is reading off what sounds like directions for opening a combination lock, as arrows flash on the screen.

The only bits that might mean something are quick looks at newspaper headlines that flash the words "alleged experiments, abuse," "Dr. Martin Brenner named in lawsuit" and "MKUltra Exposed." The latter refers to the CIA's mind-control experiments on human subjects in the 1950s and '60s, aimed at trying to find drugs that could be used during interrogations to extract information. The tests often used illegal methods (including large doses of psychedelic drugs and sensory deprivation) to probe the limits of the human psyche.

In season 1 we learned that Eleven was used as a test subject by Dr. Brenner, who was trying to hone her psychokinetic skills. Is this a look at the inside of her mind during those experiments?
